Lavender Vanilla Sugar Scrub {Giveaway}

I love making scrubs both for myself and for gifts. One of my favorites is a Lemon Lime Sugar Scrub from Stacy at A Delightful Home. So I was especially excited to hear that she was releasing an entire ebook on making scrubs!

Simple Scrubs to Make and Give is filled with over 30 different combinations for scrubs including:

  • Morning Coffee Body Scrub
  • Fresh Citrus Sugar Scrub
  • Squeaky Clean Scrub
  • Lavender-Peppermint Facial Smoother

It also includes an ingredients guide, essential oil guide, and packaging ideas.

I decided to have a last minute Girl’s Night last week and we made several of the scrub recipes in Simple Scrubs to Make and Give for some last minute Christmas gifts. One of my favorites was this Lavender Vanilla Sugar Scrub:

Lavender Vanilla Sugar Scrub
(recipe used with permission)

Ingredients:
1 cup white sugar
1/2 cup coconut oil, melted
4 tablespoons grapeseed or sweet almond oil
1 teaspoon vanilla
10-15 drops lavender essential oil

Method
Pour sugar into a clean mixing bowl.
Add oils and stir to combine.
Add vanilla and essential oil then stir to distribute throughout.
Pour into a clean jar and label.

*I also added in some dried lavender buds.

I have been using this almost every day since I made it last week and it’s wonderful. It’s relaxing and luxurious and would make a perfect gift, or a special treat for yourself!

I love scrubs! This one sounds yummy!

  2. I just got hooked on sugar scrubs, which could become an expensive habit if I don't learn to make my own! I'd love a copy of the book.

  3. Charmon Murray says:

I'm interested in close to the earth, reuse/repurpose, and homemade gifts. When we make things with our hands with love, for whatever reason, it seems to transfers that energy. A friend once noted that, "a cup of coffee, for instance, always tastes better when it is made with care." By reusing a jar for a scrub, we give new purpose to that object–thus, keeping it in the cycle of use instead of going into a landfill or even just recycling, which is never as good as reuse. And lastly, when we use ingredients close to the earth, we can only feel good that our eco-footprint is minimal. So just the act of createing the gift for someone, becomes a gift to the person creating it too!

  4. I'd love a chance to win– I just made my first sugar scrub a couple weeks ago, so I would really like to get more recipes!

  6. I'd like to win because it sounds like a wonderful thing to make me feel better. I am going to make some, regardless, because I used a scrub a long time ago and this reminded me how wonderful it made my skin feel.

  7. I liked a Delightful Home yesterday when I saw this and got sidetracked from putting it down as a comment because then I think I went skipping to all sorts of sites you are linked to. thanks!!

  8. I would like to win because I'm a course of healthy eating/health living. A big part of that is not just eating real food, but also removing all toxins from my home including beauty products with toxins in them. So this giveaway would be perfect for me ;) :)

  12. It sounds like a great way to pamper yourself! I also like that it demystifies a beauty product when you make it yourself.

  13. Rachael Picone says:

I would love to win a copy for you e-book with all the different scrub recipes. I really like to give home made gifts like sugar scrubs to friends and family because its so much more personal and shows you put time, effort, and thought into them. I also like them for myself after a long 12 hour shift that somehow turns into a 14 hour shift at the hospital. It would be nice to have some variety and selection for not only myself but my friends and family that will be gifted with the delightful aromatic scents of the scrubs.
