A Day In The Life Of…

I saw this fun idea over at Simply Rebekah and decided it would be fun to join in. Basically, you choose a day and take a picture every hour and you get a Day in the Life through photographs.

Every day looks pretty different in our home. Two days a week I work outside the home, but I decided to do my Day In the Life on a day that I’m home with both kids. Here’s a typical Wednesday in our home (January 25, 2012):

7am: I woke up at 6:15 because Isaac was awake already. He used to sleep until 7:00, but for some reason has recently been waking up earlier. Boo. So, my coffee is already poured and I’m looking at a big stack of grading I should start on…but instead I’m reading blogs on my Google Reader.

8am: Homeschooling Charlotte.

9am: Building a block tower with Isaac. Charlotte’s still doing school work.

10am: Isaac’s down for a nap, so I’m hopping in the shower!

11am: We’re headed out the door to go to the park.

12pm: Having fun with friends playing at the park.

1pm: Leaving the park and headed home.

2pm: Finally getting some grading done. Kids are down for naps/quiet time…except it’s not very quiet so far.

3pm: Still grading, but the kids are up. Isaac never slept, just talked to himself in there for an hour.

4pm: Putting out the new doormat I got for my birthday. Isn’t it cute?

5pm: Put some water on to boil to make some dinner. I’m making this Pesto Chicken, Sundried Tomatoes, and Artichoke Heart Pasta tonight. Yum!

6pm: Bathtime!

7pm: Just put Isaac down for the night. Now for some games and reading time with Charlotte.

8pm: Both kids in bed, time to tackle this laundry pile.

9pm: This was actually a bit after 9:00, but my best friend, Anjuli, stopped by and I got caught up chatting with her and didn’t remember to take a picture right at 9:00. So here I am painting my nails, on top of a puzzle, a little after 9:00.

10pm: My bed is calling my name…maybe a little reading first, but it’s time for bed!

11pm, 12am, 1am: Unfortunately it turned into a long night…poor Isaac had a terrible cough and I was up with him until about 1am. However…I didn’t document with pictures every hour!

So there it is, a pretty average day in the life!

  1. love this. kept wondering why you had your camera out at the park. what an awesome day!

  2. The cough seems to be hitting a lot of kiddos. I hope he's feeling better.

  3. I'm glad that I'm not the only one who may read a blog every now and then when I need to be grading papers! A huge stack of papers was staring me down as I read your post.

  4. I enjoyed reading about your day and can relate to a lot of the things you do.

I love your first picture. Blog reading is much more fun that grading papers 😉

  5. What a fun day! I love those cute nesting blocks!

  6. Normally a doormat would be a really lame birthday gift, but I think this one makes it all ok. Very cute! Thanks for sharing your day!

I got it from my brother's girlfriend, and it was great because she got the idea from looking at my Pinterest boards. I've never thought of doing that, but next time I need a gift for someone and they're on Pinterest, I'm going to look at their boards for ideas.

  7. Ville de Hue : Tres bien l’hotel Asia hotel et guide: Thin Nguyen etait vraiment genial!

  8. Alternatively you will need to do your own testing to find out what works for you.
Yearly expenses are also deducted from each fund you own. Starting off,
this will be very difficult to overcome if you aren’t nimble.

  9. What a data of un-ambiguity and preserveness of valuable know-how on the topic of unexpected feelings.

  10. Why viewers still make use of to read news papers when in this
technological globe everything is existing on net?
