The Paris Wife by Paula McLain

I don’t read as much as I’d like, and I’m trying to change that this year. So when Anne at Modern Mrs. Darcy announced she would be doing monthly twitter-style book reviews, I decided it would be the perfect way for me to share what I’ve been reading. So far this year I’ve made it through one book, and it was a good one!

The Paris Wife: A Novel by Paula McLain
The tumultuous love story of Hemingway and his first wife during the Jazz Age in Paris. Captivating and fascinating. Tragic. Could not put it down.

  1. I wanted to love The Paris Wife–I heard an interview with the author right before it came out and I was so intrigued by the story! But I just didn't love the book. This seems to be one of those polarizing reads that people either love or hate–nobody seems to feel lukewarm about it.

Love your twitter review–thanks for sharing!

  2. The characters in The Paris Wife kind of drove me crazy. Still, I'm always interested in fictionalized history. You might like The Chaperone if you haven't read it.
